SwiftMail for Gmail connects directly to your Gmail account using secure OAuth authentication. Your email data is fetched and displayed on-device only — nothing is collected, stored, or transmitted to any third-party server.

Gmail data

SwiftMail accesses your Gmail solely to display your emails. It does not collect, store, or share any email content.

Contacts

Contacts from your Google account and Apple Contacts are accessed locally for autofill suggestions when composing emails. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted elsewhere.

Google User Data Sharing

We do not sell Google user data. We do not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the application’s functionality, comply with applicable law, protect the security of the service, or with the user’s explicit consent.

How We Protect Sensitive Google User Data

SwiftMail for Gmail accesses Gmail messages, drafts, labels, attachments, and Google Contacts only after the user grants permission through Google OAuth. This information is used solely to provide email and contact-related features, including reading and organizing mail, composing and sending messages, managing drafts, and suggesting recipients.

Google user data is transmitted directly between the SwiftMail app and Google’s APIs over HTTPS/TLS-encrypted connections. SwiftMail does not operate a server-side database for Gmail or Google Contacts data, and we do not sell, rent, advertise against, broker, or use Google user data to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are stored using macOS Keychain Services rather than ordinary application files. Tokens are used only to authenticate authorized requests to Google APIs and are not included in analytics or unrelated services. SwiftMail limits access to Google user data to the app functionality requested by the user.

Email messages, drafts, labels, attachments, and account information may be cached locally on the user’s Mac to provide synchronization, search, and offline-friendly application functionality. Local data is protected by the security controls of macOS and the user’s device account. Google Contacts data is used to provide recipient suggestions and is not used for unrelated purposes.

When a user signs out of or removes an account from SwiftMail, the app deletes the account’s stored OAuth tokens and locally cached SwiftMail data from that Mac. Users may also revoke SwiftMail’s access at any time through their Google Account security settings.

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Google user data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
