Composing Mail
SwiftMail opens compose, reply, reply-all, forward, and draft editing in a compose window.
New message
Section titled “New message”Click the compose button in the message list toolbar or press Command-N.
Fill in:
- To
- Subject
- Message body
The Send button is enabled when at least one To recipient is present.
Cc and Bcc
Section titled “Cc and Bcc”Click the More toolbar menu, then choose Show Cc or Show Bcc.
Recipients
Section titled “Recipients”Recipient fields use token-style email entry and can show contact suggestions while you type.
Attachments
Section titled “Attachments”Click Add Attachment to select one or more files. Attached files appear above the message body. Click the remove button on an attachment chip to remove it before sending.
Sending
Section titled “Sending”Click Send. If sending fails, SwiftMail shows a Send Failed alert with the error message.
Closing a compose window
Section titled “Closing a compose window”If the compose window has content and you close it, SwiftMail asks whether to save the message as a draft.
Choose:
- Save Draft to save the message to Gmail drafts.
- Discard to close without saving.
- Keep Editing to return to the compose window.
If saving fails, SwiftMail shows a Save Failed alert.
