Composing Mail

SwiftMail opens compose, reply, reply-all, forward, and draft editing in a compose window.

Click the compose button in the message list toolbar or press Command-N.

Fill in:

  • To
  • Subject
  • Message body

The Send button is enabled when at least one To recipient is present.

Click the More toolbar menu, then choose Show Cc or Show Bcc.

Recipient fields use token-style email entry and can show contact suggestions while you type.

Click Add Attachment to select one or more files. Attached files appear above the message body. Click the remove button on an attachment chip to remove it before sending.

Click Send. If sending fails, SwiftMail shows a Send Failed alert with the error message.

If the compose window has content and you close it, SwiftMail asks whether to save the message as a draft.

Choose:

  • Save Draft to save the message to Gmail drafts.
  • Discard to close without saving.
  • Keep Editing to return to the compose window.

If saving fails, SwiftMail shows a Save Failed alert.
