Accounts and Settings

Open SwiftMail for Gmail → Settings… from the macOS menu bar to manage Gmail accounts, verification code notifications, sidebar preferences, and automatic update checks.

Accounts

The Accounts section lists every connected account. The current account is marked with a checkmark.

You can:

• Click the plus button to add another Google account.
• Click Switch next to another account to make it active.
• Click the trash button next to an account to remove it from SwiftMail. Its saved sign-in and local mail cache are removed; the account and mail remain in Gmail.

When you add or switch accounts, SwiftMail syncs the selected account before showing its mail.

Verification codes

Verification code notifications is enabled by default. It controls verification code detection, Copy Code buttons in the inbox, and code notifications. macOS notification permission is needed for notifications, but not for copying a code from the inbox.

Sidebar preferences

Settings includes two sidebar controls:

• Show Important label in sidebar controls whether Important appears in the sidebar.
• Show Starred category and actions controls whether Starred appears in the sidebar and whether star actions appear in thread lists and thread details.

Automatic update checks

Check for updates automatically is enabled by default. Turn it off to stop background update checks, or turn it back on to receive update prompts. Your choice is saved between launches.

Automatic checks run roughly once a day while the app is open. Automatic downloading and installation are off by default. You can check manually at any time with SwiftMail for Gmail → Check for Updates….

The settings window shows the installed app version.
